These 12 seeds are open-pollinated in my garden, which is filled with a wide variety of pastel colours in small to medium-sized decorative and ball forms, so the results are wonderfully unpredictable.

Growing from seed is like a lucky dip - the blooms won’t be the same as the parent plant. In fact, growing dahlias from seed is how new varieties are created.

Grown organically, harvested in 2025.
